D'Marie Designs, Myrtle Beach, SC

D'Marie Designs was started in Charleston, SC in 1990.  My love for jewelry making started when I was a child visiting my aunt's jewelry store in Massachusettes.  I could never afford to have my own pretty "sparklies", so I decided to try my hand at creating them myself.  My first love was wire sculpture which quickly developed into metalsmithing.  When I was struggling as a single mother, I decided to take a course in jewelry repair and stone setting.  Not long after completing my course I found a wonderful local jeweler who continued to work with me to further develop my benchworking skills. 

I have recently tried my hand at lampwork beads and have incorporated some of my handmade beads into my designs as well.
