I am a Japanese-born artist lives in the Berkshire region of Massachusetts. I studied and hold BFA in sculpture at Musashino Art University in Tokyo Japan.I came to this country, Brooklyn NY in 80'. I worked in TV commercial, film industry for years as a modelmaker. I am a old school modelmaker who made everything by hand from the scratch before computers came along. I have lead on film projects in the Berkshire and settle in there. living in a rural setting as well as traveling across the US, Europe, Latin America and Asia, has brought a new perspective my art. Inspired by the natural world, I incorporate elements such as leaves, flowers, pods, seeds, berries, trees, vines and combine them with the spiritual world. I make all my original pieces by carving or sculpting with my hands, most of them are out of jewelers wax, sometimes I use epoxy compounds. Then we make molds and cast by lost-wax casting. All pieces are finished in our studio. I make many one of kind, also finish with some findings to make them more affordable for everybody. Tahneh means seeds in Japanese. Our company spreads the seeds of peace, spirituality in nature and the locally-handmade movement.
