Damien Musto, Caldwell, NJ
In the landscape that is the legendary New Jersey music scene, Damien Musto has always been laser-focused, determined to hone his craft. For nearly two decades the singer-songwriter and longtime owner/engineer of Lucky Penny Studios (in Caldwell) has embodied the work-hard, play-hard rock-n-roll mentality, earning a dedicated fanbase along the way. He cut his teeth as the guitarist for several respected indie rock bands throughout the early aughts, including small a.m. — who were signed to NJ record label, Childlike Records and Hey Tiger. That run culminated in a massive performance opening for Bon Jovi at Metlife Stadium.
Damien has been having one of the busiest years of his career. Touring the past few summers throughout the U.S. and Canada and currently hard at work writing and recording his debut solo EP. The lead single, “Open Up Your Heart” off the forthcoming album showcases Damien in top form. Warmly familiar yet simultaneously exhilarating and refreshing, soaring guitars licks and layered vocal melodies.
