Demopolis' favorite yuletide festivity has grown into one of the Southeast's premier holiday events. Since its 1972 inception, Christmas on the River has not only captivated the hearts of those in and around West Alabama, it has proven an annual tourist attraction capable of bringing in visitors from other states and regions of the country.
