I have spent the last nine years teaching "special needs" children in Indianapolis for Southside Special Services, RISE Learning Center. I began my artistic career teaching pre-school, then I began ceramic classes and did that plus various other forms of art in the 1970's. Started doing paper crafting and scraping in the 90's. Did a lot of crafting for my churches "Young Women's Camp" for many years. Enjoy all forms of art expression, which led me to the vintage plate art. My grandmother left me around 2000 dishes, which no one wanted except me. Stored many years in attic. When my husband passed in 2000, I tug my boxes out and started to sort the dishes. Eureka!!!! the idea was born for Vintage Plate Art. My business name is "Dish It UP" and I'm just getting started. Currently, I have a booth in Evansville which is only open the first weekend of of every month. I have been there since May 2013 and thought I would give it a year. WOW! It has been very successful so I thought I might do a few festivals and craft shows.
