Our Jazzy Fat's Cajun Classic Praline recipe is straight from the Bayou. Yep my Grandma Wanda prepared them way before I was knee hi to a grasshopper. And I grew up stirring the pot and licking the spoon. My Grandma Wanda sold this delicious confectionary treat from her Louisiana kitchen and after church every Sunday.
Through my adult years I would bring this family tradition back to Chicago and share it with my friends and co-worker's. To die for, OMG who made this? They would say. I would hear. My Granny I'd reply. Many said I should market the delicious treat but I never took them serious. In 1998 I traveled back home to Baton Rouge and for some reason I felt the need to learn how to make our family pralines. Seeing my Granny was getting older I envisioned never eating her Pralines again. I thought, who will continue the legacy. She's prepared them all my life. What will happen to the recipe? So, after all the years of eating and indulging at the hands of my dear Grandma Wanda I decided our family legacy must go on. After making many batches myself and sharing our pralines with friends, co-worker's and other confection lover's here I am going from kitchen to market.
