Eddie's Seafood & Soul Food Restaurant is unique to Shreveport, Louisiana. The restaurant has a menu that features authentic Louisiana Cajun cuisine
Eddie Hughes, his wife Lois Bryant Hughes and their children opened Eddie=s Restaurant in July of 1978. They had no idea that at some point, Eddie=s Restaurant would become the oldest continuously operated African-American restaurant in Northwest Louisiana.
Eddie's Restaurant was featured in the Southern Living Magazine as the South's Best Soul Food in Louisiana.
Eddie's Restaurant was featured in the Louisiana Cooking Magazine as one of Louisiana's 7th Best Shrimp Eaters for the State of Louisiana.
Eddie's family appeared on the Public Broadcast Radio with Poppy Tooker, food journalist host and executive producer of Louisiana Eats to speak about the long history of southern food and the Famous Stuffed Shrimp.
Eddie's Family made a special appearance on the Food Network show with Chef Jeff.
We were also noted in the Shreveport Times. We have been recognized by the City Council, City Commissioners and the Shreveport Tourism Bureau. A SHORT FILM was produced by the Shreveport-Bossier Tourism Convention in honor of Eddie Hughes. Eddie's Shrimp Creole was featured in this November 2016 edition of the Shreveport/Bossier Magazine.
Patrons are able to purchase the Eddie's Original Stuffed Shrimp and Eddie's Louisiana tartar sauce to enjoy at home in some of the local grocery stores in the Shreveport area.
