Will Parry and Steve Ornest began writing music together while studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. They sent some of their early demos back to music industry professionals in Los Angeles, and encouraged by their response, decided to make the move. Soon after arriving in Los Angeles they met bassist Brock Pollock, a former classmate and Berklee graduate. Teamed up with Los Angeles native Mike Sutherland on drums, these four musicians formed Fallen Riviera. Raised in a seaport town on the Southwest of England, Will Parry spent his early youth mastering jazz piano. On the other side of the Atlantic, Steve Ornest was shedding classic rock heroes Hendrix and Zeppelin while drummer Mike Sutherland was instantly hooked on local punk bands Thrice and Pennywise. Ohio born bassist Brock Pollock, raised on classic rock and the blues, found his true home in deep pocket grooves. Fallen Riviera’s influences are vast and cover many grounds, but together they form a cohesive sound that can be compared to the likes of U2, Coldplay, the Beatles, and many others. After releasing their debut CD entitled “The White Dress EP,” Fallen Riviera was the recipient of the 2011 Lauren Picard emerging artist of the year award at Cornell University. They were also voted best new rock band of the year on Indie-Music.com. They have just finished work on their follow up album entitled “Six Mines,” and recently completed a five week national tour in April/May 2011.
