Retired almost 3 years ago and began to be bored and felt I needed an outlet so I started crafting again which has kept my husband and I pretty busy I'm happy to say.
I have always loved crystal and glass beads so I began making what we are calling "Framed Suncatchers by Nanny & Pop" which are exactly what it says ... large and small frames that have chicken wire stapled on the inside with 100's of crystal beads attached that are absolutely magical in the sunlight. We started out just giving them to family and friends as gifts but once other people saw them things got wild with people wanting to pay us for them!
We decided to do the Apple Festival in Ellijay last year and we were shocked that we actually sold out, even got a couple of special orders from people from out of state. We had a big PINK tent that I ordered all setup, it was an attraction in itself but with all the suncatchers displayed in the sun sparkling the ladies and to my surprise the men were all drawn in to see them. We even ended up with "special orders" that shipped out of state, it was exciting and we truly enjoyed meeting all the friendly people!
