Formed in 2010 in the Las Virgenes Canyon of Los Angeles, Gone By Sunrise was an idea born out of a love for all things Rock & Roll. The band was founded by Christopher Soulios and Michael Arambel (two college friends who played in various bands together throughout the '90's) in 2010, and later rounded out by singer Zac, drummer Alonso, and bassist Miguel in 2011.
Throughout 2011, GBS performed at a variety of clubs, bars, house parties, and local Open Mic Nights. At the end of 2011, we decided to take our sound to the studio and began working on our first album, "Music for Las Virgenes".
With a mix of hard-rocking songs like "Left-Handed Zero" and "Apache/Comanche", as well as the pop tunes of "Drift" and "Sweet Mary", Gone By Sunrise has a unique and rounded sound that music-lovers of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy.
In 2012, Zach left for the Peace Corps. and it was time to look for a new singer. After many extensive auditions, the band met James Doan. James took over the vocal helm in December 2012 and hasn't looked back since. A native of Simi Valley, James immediately clicked with the band and within a month, was already working on new material.
On Sept. 15th, 2013, GBS played their last show with Alonso and welcomed in temporary drummer Andrew Jacobs. Currently, Vicken Hovsepian currently man's the drums.
Gone By Sunrise rounded out 2013 with their professionally recorded self-titled EP, "Gone By Sunrise - EP". GBS had the pleasure of collaborating with some amazing musicians on this EP. We had the pleasure of having Tracii Guns (of L.A Guns), Scott Foster Harris and David E. Kole contribute their talents to the EP. Also, GBS gives a big thanksGreg Wurth for his Production and Engineering, and Maor Appelbaum for Mixing and Mastering.
With the start of a new year (and with a refined sound), the band continues to write new songs, play more shows, and bring the melodic, hard rocking sound of Gone By Sunrise to the ears of fans both old and new. We look forward to seeing you at the next show!
