I have always been an artist, drawing people, trying to emulate my mother's drawings of pretty ladies; but right out of high school I pursued musical theatre studying at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC. Although singing jazz standards and performing in local theatre are still a part of my life, I decided that it wasn't the career for me. I earned an undergraduate degree and graduate credits in Art Education from Penn State University. For nine years I taught art to students in kindergarten through twelfth grade in public and private schools until I was able to stay home with my beloved dogs, spend time with my better half and do commission work only. I am in constant pursuit of learning to work with new art materials and having private art students motivates me to do that all the more.
