At three years old, I ventured to the neather regions of my mother's friend, Sandy Hyatt's bedroom ...which housed her jewelry box. Of which, when peering inside I saw so much glitz and glitter that I had to put every single piece on. Holding my arms in the air so as to keep the bangles (which adorned my arms) from falling I slowly decended her stairway. Into the living room I could see and step by slow step I made my way to the bottom. "Oh, Jean, LOOK! She looks like a Gypsy!!" I never lost my attraction for shinny stuff and dazzling color. Dad called me a crow because I would always go to the glitz. Sandy Hyatt called me Gypsy. Some years later I came to beading through my mother who sent me a beading kit. It was fun and I was hooked. All my hand made pieces are done by me. All the shells I use in my artwork were retrieved by yours truly from the beach near my home here in Southwest Florida. The stones are mostly purchased as pendants and the crystals are in many cases swarovski. My light catchers have a lead-crystal pendant and all my jewelry I use lead-free findings. Some of the beads used on the Lariat necklaces are Pandora, the one's that are have been stamped. There are a few items I have acquired through the years that go hand in hand with the jewelry I produce. Some of which are my friend Pam's Bangles. They really complement the gypsy moon jewelry like the pendant necklaces and/or the fancy dancy earrings I make. Together they don't meet the standard of "Matchy-Matchy"... I guess it's not cool to be matchy matchy. That's what my 23 year old says. SO~ I thank you for your interest in Gypsy Moon Products and hope to meet you in person!!
