Powdered Laundry Soap Recipe

Everybody is trying to save money in this economy. Oneway to save money is to make your own laundry soap. It is so easy and it isfun, even if the liquid laundry soap does look a little “gloppy” when you aredone.  The hardest part of making laundrysoap is grating the bar soap.  Ivory Soapor Fels Naptha Soap is a favorite when creating laundry soap, but you can useany inexpensive bar soap you can find.

Before you get started it is important to know aboutwashing soda. Washing soda can usually be found in the laundry aisle of eitherWal-Mart or your local grocers.  Washingsoda is sodium carbonate and can also be found at a pool supply store. Borax isa powder that can also be found in the laundry aisle.

 

Powdered Laundry Soap:

2 ½ cups of grated bar soap

1 cup of washing soda

1 cup of borax

 

Mix all the above ingredients together and store in anairtight plastic container. Use 2-3 tablespoons per load of laundry.
