About
Idaho's Voice, Garden City, ID
The ground lies beautifully out here. It's a natural amphitheater, the kind of place that looks like it was carved for music. And music has always been a part of my life. So in 2012 I traded the crab boat for a different kind of project. We took down an old Simplot warehouse, salvaged the hundred-year-old lumber, and used it to build a stage. That stage is my new crab boat — built a little differently than before, but it'll carry you somewhere just the same.
We named it Oasis because it's an honest name. This property sits on a shallow aquifer — an underground lake with some of the sweetest water you'll find anywhere in the high desert. That water let us plant trees, grow flowers, and turn a piece of dry country into something green and alive. A true oasis.
What grew out of all that is the Oasis Event Center: a natural amphitheater with three-hundred-sixty-degree big-sky views, room for weddings and intimate gatherings, and space for music festivals of a thousand-plus. We host local musicians, traveling acts, campers, and anyone looking to get out of the hustle and bustle of the Treasure Valley for a weekend. It's part of the Idaho Local movement — built to give Idaho's hidden talent a stage and give the community a place to gather.
If you want to escape Boise for a minute, slow down, and sit under a sky big enough to fit your whole life in, come on out to the Oasis.
