Index Coffee, Fairfax, VA
Index Coffee seeks out and roasts single origin coffees with distinct flavors which are fairly-traded and sustainably grown. We are the only coffee roaster in N. VA to have our coffees scored 90+ in Coffee Review (2022 & 2023, 2024 TBC), the world's leading reviewer of high-scoring specialty coffee.
We offer coffee in whole bean, ground, and Keurig-compatible coffee pods, with six different grind settings and four different bag sizes to accommodate customer's buying needs and brewing preferences. We roast to order several times a week to ensure peak freshness. We also offer hot coffee, cold brew, and free samples.
We currently sell our coffee through the following venues: Oakmont Farmer's Market (Fairfax County), MetPark Tuesday Market at Amazon HQ2, Alexandria's West End Farmer's Market, Historic Manassas Farmer's Market on Saturday, Burke Farmer's Market, Annandale Farmer's Market, City of Fairfax Rock the Block, online direct to consumer, and to wholesale accounts. We have also participated in festivals such as Taste of Vienna (8,000), Falls Church Memorial Day Monday (10,000), and the City of Fairfax Fall Festival.
We are based in the City of Fairfax, VA, where all our coffee is roasted, packaged, and distributed. We make use of local suppliers as much as possible, including printing, graphic designers, signage, equipment and beverage supplies. Coffee is not grown in the Continental U.S., so we work with boutique importers who have direct relationships with coffee farms around the world. Many of our importers represent their own family farms and farms in communities where they have deep roots.
Index Coffee was founded in early 2021, after a full year of roasting and coffee education, business planning and R&D. We are now entering our fourth year of business.
