Happy Holidays! From Now until the New Year, our staff will have limited office hours. Time-sensitive and order-related emails will take priority; we appreciate your patience! Happy New Year!
I never knew I had any art talent so I never tried.
I've been a Realtor since 1986 and my husband and I spent 13 years fix up ugly houses to make them beautiful to sell, move into or rent. I'm the designer and he's the contractor. In 1997, when we first started, faux painted walls and cabinets were popular. Artists were expensive so I bought a video and books and learned how to do it and I was good! Who knew?
In 2006, I decided to put my art on canvas so I could take it with me and I took my first art workshop. When I put that brush in my hand, I knew I'd found my new love! I don't have an art degree so I'd be classified as "self taught". That's a misnomer. As an eternal student, I never feel like I know enough. I've spent as much time as getting an art degree studying with the best teachers I could afford.
I worked as a full time Realtor and a part time artist until 2014 when I was able to work as a full time artist and part time Realtor. Once I was able to paint daily, my art improved greatly. I am a juried artist and have been represented by Bee Street Gallery in Dallas, Texas and Raw 1899 in San Angelo, Texas where I had my first solo show in 2018. I've participated in several shows hosted by the San Angelo Museum of Art and was a chosen artist for Art in Uncommon Places to add art to downtown San Angelo. I challenged myself to learn to paint en plein air and was chosen as one of 8 plein air artists to paint at the Keller Art Festival in 2021. It was my first art festival. This year, I plan to enter more art festivals. My husband retired in 2021 and now has the time to team with me in this endeavor.
