Jay has been painting since 1979 and has beena professional artist since 1987. Jay is a native Californian whose love of nature and the outdoors is captured in his paintings.

Jay's travels have given him opportunity to paint scenes in the United States. Ukraine, Playa del Carmen, Thailand, Switzerland, and India. Some of his most popular paintings have been done "en pleinair" French for outdoors on location.
Though best known for his seascapes and landscapes, his subjects include still life, wildlife, and florals. His lifelong observations of nature are reflected in the variety of palettes and textures found in his work. His keen sense of color is evident as he captures and interprets these facets of nature and invites the viewer to exercise his own sensitivity and perception. The artist's work is found in many private collections. His studio is located in San Diego, California.
