As a retired public school administrator/principal I discovered my creative side about 10 years ago. My frequent walks on the beach yielded jars of beautifully shaped and colored sea glass as well as beautifully smoothed and shaped beach stones.
My sea glass collection inspired me to take a few jewelry making courses. What began as a way of making gifts for family and friends turned into a small business opportunity. I use sterling silver and 14-karat gold wire wrap and sterling silver or 12-karat gold-plated sterling silver chains. I also make pendants that are double-wrapped in sterling silver and gold. This allow for flexibility in the selection of a chain on which to hang the pendant.
Sea glass lends itself well to the creation of sail boat art frames also.
I craft beach stone pendants and bracelets as well as beach stone art frames of sail boats, families, cars, hearts, etc. Pendants are wrapped in a variety of colorful wire and hang of appropriate hemp, imitation suede or leather, cord, or other appropriate material.
I sell my jewelry and art frames online at (www.plymouthrocksart.com) as well as at arts & craft fairs on the south shore of Massachusetts and on Cape Cod.
