Jill Cammarano was born in Akron, Ohio in 1971. She was raised in New York and received her BFA from Parsons School of Design in 1993. While her early focus was in the fine arts, she transitioned to working in post-production, computer graphics and game art for companies such as Disney, IBM and Microsoft. She moved to the Seattle area in the late 90's and has been residing there for the past 15 or so years in with her husband , son and twin daughters.
Having always been influenced by realistic portraiture, Jill strives to represent the essence of her subject; at the same time exploring the beauty of the medium. She keeps to a very simple and fairly meticulous method for creating these portraits, inspired by what moves her. She is currently working exclusively with oils on canvas in her home studio in Duvall Washington.
