Carved In Stone was established in 1999. Our artist John creates beautiful sculptures from limestone, marble and wood. John's talent comes from his Dad who was a mechanical engineer by day and restoring antique trunks and picture frames in his spare time, to his Mom who was a seamtress creating hats and suits and other various artististic projects.
John started out his carving with creating decorative and working duck decoys and moved on to his current love with Limestone.
“Stone carving is physical, mental and emotional work. I take great pride in hand selecting the stone, and with each strike of the hammer, watching it come to life. The attention to unique detailing can create a presence that cannot be duplicated in a factory.”
