The story of Just A Whiff – how it evolved, why it is cherished.
There are smells all around us – the air currents flow from different directions generating various distinctive regional fragrances.
Is it any wonder that when we choose a fragrance it is at times with similar reminiscent thoughts and feelings?
With many cherished memories, my initial objective was to compile the best hydrating, softening lotions with the soft pleasing scents by using natural, and/or organic products. In part, this was prompted due to a diagnosis of cancer. The original diagnosis and ensuing days were overflowing with troubling thoughts and questions (why me, why now, how did this develop, etc.). Numerous hours, days, weeks were spent on the internet researching the subject, talking with knowledgeable individuals that had treated others with homeopathic and natural ingredients. It was a revelation and in some small ways a life changing time. At the very least, it made me acutely aware of ingredients and their possible side effects.
Essential oils have the ability to transform our physical, mental and emotional well-being by triggering and strengthening our bodies’ own natural processes. It is accomplished by tiny molecules that can distribute healing properties to the systems that control our physiological state.
The most effective way for a body to absorb the therapeutic components of essential oils is a combination of inhalation through the olfactory system of the nose and absorption through the surface of the skin. Various 100% pure essential oils have the ability to transform our physical, mental and emotional well-being by triggering and strengthening our bodies’ own natural processes. It is accomplished by tiny molecules distributing healing properties to the systems that control our physiological state.
Initially skin was thought of a barrier; subsequently, it has been proven skin is permeable -- meaning substances actually move through our skin and into our body. As toxins are absorbed through our skin, they are taken-up by the lymphatic system, and then travel into the blood stream and eventually the liver. The result can be serious illnesses.
Which raises the simple questions -- why are they still being used; and, why is the general public not being made aware of this??
