I am 4th generation Chocolatier and the Hammond's have been providing hand made chocolates in Southwest Michigan since 1885. Henry Hammond, my great great grandfather, moved the family to Bangor, Michigan from Mount Blanchard, Ohio in 1864 and immediately set-up a trading post for pelts and butchering services. He also started the first ice service providing home delivery and for the railroad.
My first job in the candy making was cutting the wax paper squares for the hand pulled taffy we made. My reward was banana taffy, yummo!
We offer a variety of chocolates items such as nut clusters, our special peanut butter cups, sea salted caramels, jumbo caramel pecan turtles (our signature item), and many more.
Being located in the heart of the fruit belt in Southwest Michigan, we are surrounded by 4 wineries within 3 miles of our shop in Coloma, MI. To that end we have created some wonderful chocolates paired with some great local and regional wines.
