Ken Atkins and the Honky Tonk Kind, Ledyard, CT

We play Honky Tonk music folks! Originals and quite a few 'standards' some of which will surprise you... been doin' it for about 20 years now. We're signed to a small label in South Austin called Sound Job Austin... They treat us real fine. Back in 2013 our CD "Everybody's Movin' On" made it up to #34/100 on the Root Music Charts for Texas Artists! That's a chart made up entirely of actual radio airplay spins across the country. Yes, that includes folks like Willie Nelson, Pat Green, Robert Earl Keen, etc.... We are a very easy going bunch, we don't play loud, you'll see smiles all around, guaranteed. We've played with Eilen Jewell on several occasions, also the Texas great - James Hand quite a few times... did a gig with The Deadstring Bros. and even the great Webb Wilder joined us onstage last Summer ('15)... We play anywhere, weddings, funerals, bars, grocery stores, fancy pants nightclubs, lunches, brunches and dinners and dances at a variety of venues. Please don't think we're too hick of a bunch, 'cause brother we can get slick when the occasion calls for it. We have completed working on our 2nd album "This Train" for Sound Job Austin and looking forward to a swingin' 2016.
