My name is Kathi and I've been a crafter forever. I remember the first show that I participated in; it was in Phoeni where we (about 25 crafters) held a holiday sale in one of our homes. We advertized in the newspaper and put signs in the front yard. Word of mouth brought people through for two days. We moved all of the furniture out of the home and each of us was assigned an area to display our particular craft item(s) for sale. On Monday morning the home was cleaned professionally and the furniture moved back. I went to work shortly after that and even though I continued to craft here and there, work took priority.
I retired last year and my daughter Tina and I crafted to our heart's content. We set up business in our garages and turned out creative decor made of wood primarily. We participated in many shows, some of which were for pets (that was fun). This July, Tina moved to Arvada Colorado and took all of our inventory with her. We are looking to book some shows there for the busy holiday season. FNO is a huge help as I can locate shows near Tina that we can inquire about showing.
