Larry Friedenson, painter/ sculpture. My paintings reflect scenes of
of France, Italy and Greece. They consist of exterior and interior views that I recompose to create a painting. When the painting is completed, it is a new reality. The painting communicates the color, design and feelings. Everything is given new form. The table may not be straight, the flower vase not symetrical the colors are altered. The change gives the picture a new personal reality.
My sculpture is based on working with interesting combination of wooden shapes and contrasts. Large sweeping movements contrasted to small thin lines of wood. The combination of shapes and contrasts are endless. To be able to create sculpture that is viable in the home, out of a wonderful material, wood. is a good feeling. I enjoy making sculpture that is different in form, yet attractive for use in the home.
Larry Friedenson is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and Indiana University. He holds four degrees in art including a Doctorate.
He has taught at the university level. His work is in many private and corporate collections, at one time he owner his own gallery in Indianapols for fifteen years. Exhibition have been in galleries in Cincinnati, Columbus, Milwaukee, Clearwater, and Indianapolis.
