The wood burned art is usually done on white pine, but can be painted or stained to your request. We start with plain gourds, then each piece of gourd art is individually crafted & painted from the bare gourd. They are cut into pots, bowls, vases, etc. A finished piece of gourd art can take as much as 16 hours, depending on the size and complexity of the design. The pallet art is also individually crafted by Rick from discarded pallet wood and can be very time consuming as well. For those of you who love rustic art, you'll love this. We take custom orders as well for pallet, gourd or lumber art. But you see folks, it's not about the time involved but the love invested that we are most concerned about. Our goal is two fold -- (1) that the piece purchased would be a blessing as well as practical & useful and (2) that the proceeds earned from the sale of these items would be used to further the Kingdom of God and His message of love and salvation.
We're new at this but we are learning with every project we complete, and we sincerely desire to give you as professional a product as possible! Our goal is to incorporate your individual taste in art as well as crafts. Because we are retired, we have the time to give to your project. We want it to be as special to you as it was to us making it for you. One of the main reasons that we am excited about this is because a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of our art work will be dedicated to outreach ministries such as providing Bibles to inmates, the ministry of our local (Carrollton) Resource Pregnancy Center for unwed teen mothers, and other outreach missions as the Lord directs. This is our way as a couple of retired folk to use our time to serve Kingdom of God in a creative way.
