I make "flowers" out of used plates and decorate them with beads, buttons, butterflies, etc. They are attached with a PVC elbow on the back and a PVC pipe for a stem. They are stabilized using a rebar in the ground. I also make "potted plants" with the flowers in a basket or pot using plastic leaves for more reality.
Plates, cups, mugs, bowls are also used to make serving dishes and candle holders.
