Started in 1983, this line of Shell Lei Collection was created in honor of the Singing Group called Puamana, led by the Hall of Fame Aunty Irmgard Farden Aluli. I, Liza TH Yogi and Irmgard Mihana started with the very Tiny pyrene varians aka Puamana Rice Shells. I then continued to collect Shells from all over the Pacific and made them into leis. The variety of natural colored sea shells are amazing! The leis are finished in Hilo, Hawaii into the best grade of Shell Leis. Many tried to copy but I remain The Original Puamana Shells and Sea Gems. The colors vary from Green, Yellow, red orange, White, Brown, beige, white, and Gold.
