D’ Afrikanaas Band is a group that consists seasoned Musicians and artists coming together to play music at the highest level. The Band came into existence in 2008 and has been championing the course of good music rendition both locally and internationally. The Band plays a brand of music known as ‘’Afro blend’’. This implies a blend of all musical rhythms that are embedded in the African Region. Some of which are Afro beat, Trado, Highlife and Folklore, African Jazz and Soul. D’ Afrikanaas is also a band that believes in the richness of the African culture, Philosophies, ideologies, Heritage and way of life. The band has taken it upon itself to showcase this richness to the entire world to see the stuff Africans are made of and this, they have decided to do through their own medium “MUSIC’’. Little wonder the band chose ‘’VIVA AFRICA’’ as a slogan to lift the African spirit and also preach peace and unity Amongst African nations. In this generation that ‘’Big Band music’’ is going to rest, D’ Afrikanaas is trying to show this generation and generations next how Music should be done, taking everyone way back to when ‘’Big Band Music’’ was the professional way of doing Music.
