Michelle Shelby Mahan created A Moveable Art in 2017, part of M. Shelby Studios. She has resided in California, Oregon and currently Arizona, and is actively seeking art festivals throughout those states in which to present her works.
Previous to her career as an artist, Shelby wrote and published novels for young adults. In 2016 Shelby self published the book, My Life in Waves, about her experience as a survivor of stage three colon cancer and included images of her art. This set the stage for the career shift in visual art.
As a vendor at numerous art shows throughout Oregon, with Central Oregon Shows, as well as independent festivals such as the Gold Beach Brew and Art for the past four years, Shelby is now working on a website to reach an online audience as she continues to discover new festivals and shows.
Shelby hopes her recently built open air studio in Arizona will provide the space to explore even greater "movement" in her work. Her medium includes acrylic, watercolor, oil on various surfaces, as well as works with ink, colored pencil, and felt pen with layering, texturing and high definition color.
