I collect old planters, repurposed pots whatever catches my eye and dazzle them up a bit with my artistry. I offer the majority of the items as planters complete with rooted plants. As they say, "one man's trash is another man's treasure" so in my retirement I offer a measure of joy to the new owner, keep one more "useless" item from the landfill, enjoy my outing and earn a bit of pocket money. What a great passtime for the woman who spent her entire life working just to live.
I'm not wealthy but I own my home and enough property to care for 5 dogs, a colony of feral cats, a couple of rescue "mini" pigs (mini my ****!) and 3 free range (good thing the neighbors love us) chickens. So, on that property I developed an "English Garden Tea Patio" and an Asian/Zen garden on the East side of the house and on the West a Mexican Garden.
The Mexican Garden is bright, colorful and just fun! The English and Asian compliment one another and one easily transitions into the other with sedate colors and a peaceful setting including bird baths, ponds and of course a huge Buddha.
I needed planters to accent my gardens but didn't want what everyone else had and could not afford custom pieces. So I decided to make them myself. Enough people stopped to compliment my gardens and ask where I purchased this planter or that planter so I decided to try my luck in a festival setting.
I'm new at this endeavor and find my biggest problem is going to be selling the pots I am so very, very proud of!
