Marshalls Dixieland Jazz Band in 1982 is one of New Jersey's best Dixieland bands. Started by a retired Rutgers professor and piano player (Marshall Stalley) the band is comprised of amateur and professional musicians from around central New Jersey. The band plays Dixie standards on authentic instruments and rarely relies on music -- so you never know how a tune will turn out. Regular favorites include Darktown Strutters Ball, I Can't Give You Anything But Love, Up a Lazy River, Jada, Indiana and Just a Closer Walk with Thee are just a few from the diverse book.
