Matt Mason Enterprise, Spring Hill, TN
Matt Mason was born and raised just outside of Indianapolis, IN, where he learned how to play guitar by the time he was eleven. Matt's earliest musical influences originate from gospel music and Elvis Presley. He and his family attended a small church where a kind man taught Matt how to pick the chords on his first guitar. That was all it took for Matt to become hooked.
Matt's voice really began to develop in his mid-high school years, and that's when he started to get more serious about trying to make it as a singer. His first performance was over a Spring break trip down in Southern Florida. Matt talked his dad into allowing him to enter a talent show one night. The crowd's reaction was more pleasing than Matt (and especially his dad) had anticipated. That night fueled Matt's desire that much more and really can be considered the catalyst that has led Matt to where he's come thus far. At age sixteen, Matt had the pleasure of opening for The Charlie Daniels Band at the Eastern States Exposition. He has also opened for Joe Diffie, Vern Gosdin, Mel McDaniel, Jennifer Hanson, and Brian McComas at various shows!
After graduating high school in Indiana, Matt packed his bags up and moved to Nashville, TN in the Spring of 2005. Matt quickly earned a gig at the World Famous Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, and played there almost every day singing and standing in the same places where many before him have made it big. He has played the legendary Wild Horse Saloon where in 2006, he auditioned to be on Nashville Star on the USA Network. Matt was one of 20,000 to compete for a spot on the show and was selected as one of the final top 10 contestants. He became known as, "The Quiet Storm," and finished fourth on the show. He toured the country during the Summer of that year with the final four contestants. The tour was a big success and crossed the country performing shows. Appearing on Nashville Star has proven to be a very positive career move for Matt and he has become the buzz of Nashville. He returned to his hometown and headlined a benefit concert to a sold out house of 2,500 people.
Since Nashville Star, he has had a variety of sold out shows, and has sang the National Anthem at the NBA playoff game and continues today chasing the dream. Matt continues to play countless shows in Nashville, TN and many other areas. Please be sure to check out the tour page for the latest dates and information.
