On SATURDAY, DECEMBER 13th, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., our humble building will be turned into a holiday wonderland with holiday crafts, presents, treats and more. With handmade crafts from local vendors, artists and collectors, this is an event not to be missed. Featuring jewelry and accessories, candles, holiday items, clothing, furniture, wood crafts, yummy homemade baked goods and more, you will find the perfect present for everyone!
Maynard Avenue UMC is a small, vital, welcoming urban community in the SoHud (South of Hudson) community and we are raising money to sustain our over 100 year old building in a world of growing bills and lessening holiday cheer. This event does double duty as a fundraiser and as an opportunity for local vendors, crafters, bakers to reach out and share their amazing talents with the community. What has started with just a few local church members / vendors on an early Saturday afternoon in 2011, has now grown to featuring almost 50 vendors stationed throughout the whole church, a Kids Room, with Kid Vendors, visits from Santa, Kids Crafts and face-painting, homemade lunch and a bake-sale to rival no other.
HUGE HIT - THE KIDS ROOM IS BACK: The Kid’s Room is for our favorite little ones, and is filled with great holiday kid’s crafts, kid specific vendors, face-painting and Kid Vendors. We have a lot of little ones, who have been working hard to show sell their wares to you! And a special long distance call has been made to the land to the far north to see if we can line up a special HO-HO-HO-Holiday guest! He is planning to be available to greet his favorite little boys and girls, starting at 10:00 a.m. I am thinking we might be in for a treat!
HOMEMADE DELICIOUS TREATS: As always your favorite bake-sale will feature the delicious homemade holiday treats that are everyone's favorite part of the season! And as a fabulous new addition, we will be featuring breakfast items for sale and delicious homemade soups for lunch! The perfect meal to take care of the Winter chill!
