MeloD; Artist, Author, Sculptor, Keynote Speaker
Born into a family of gifted artist, MeloD’s Mother took pride teaching her children to appreciate & respect art, believing “the ability to create is what is God like in all of us & is meant to be shared". MeloD has earned National acclaim for her strong emotionally charged works on social issues. Receiving many awards; the FL Governors Peace At Home Award, FCADV Excellence Award & the National Community Service Award presented in DC. Defying tradition, MeloD paints as she feels! She possesses the ability to capture & express deep hidden meanings in her art. Reaching for truth, she strives to portray blunt certainties & capture reality’s essence. She is the creator of “The Domestic & Sexual Violence Series”, 9 soul wrenching large oil paintings, which have earned their rightful place as one of the most powerful tools used by many to create awareness, educate and evoke dialog. Through a traveling Art Exhibit, Key Note Presentations and an Educational Workbook she continues her mission. As well, MeloD loves to paint just about anything, pouring her heart & soul into each & every painting!
