Mermaid in the Moon was born Beach Baby Creations in 1999 when my (then) toddler grandson, Jeriamie, and I would spend time together on the Oregon Coast ... We had a little song we sang to each other "Beach Baby, Beach Baby, I love you" ... to which he would sing back "Beach Grandma, Beach Grandma, I love you" ... so when I decided to begin offering my clothing and jewelry creations for sale, Beach Baby Creations seemed the natural choice for a name ... When Jeriamie got a bit older, he thought I should change it to Beach Guy, but that didn't have the same "ring" to it ... and so Beach Creations was born ... when I moved away from the coast, it seemed appropriate to change the name from "Beach" and I decided on Mermaid in the Moon ... in homage to my long standing love of the Moon and my draw to the Sea ...
