Boyd and Gwin Merriman are the heart and soul of Merry Men Woodworking.

Boyd learned carpentry while working with his father on various builds across the south. He chose his own path as a sign painter learning the old school craft of hand lettering signs and pictorial billboard painting. He ran his own sign shop throughout the 80's through early 2000's.

I myself, Gwin, grew up with deep love for drawing, painting, and carving, which my mother nurtured through art classes. I also found an aptitude for all things mechanical. Upon seeing my first live stage play production as a junior in high school I pursued a degree in Theater so I could combine those talents as a theater technical director.

We met in Atlanta, Georgia and quickly bonded over our shared love for the arts and tinkering on old cars. Over the years we have continued to hone skills creating our own costumes for Renaissance fairs, volunteering at community theaters, and producing handmade crafts for family and friends.

With over 60 years of life experience behind us (a family raised, various careers pursued, success and failures achieved) we are taking this time to focus on our shared love and need to create and produce beautiful things with our hands. Merry Men Woodworking is the window to continued growth and creativity for us.
