Michael was born Feburary 6th, 1956, in North Texas. As a child Michael was average at art but had a desire to be better. Not until Michael was 12 or 13 did he began to draw and and experiment with art outside of the grade school classroom. Some of his early works were sent to a few art contests, with less than favorable results. Michael married right out of high school and immediately had a child, and by the age of 26 found himself with four children. As you might imagine there was not a lot a time to pursue art and instead pursued multiple business ventures, which he has continued to do over the course of his life. Michael has always enjoyed creating. He produced a few oil on wood pieces in his early 20’s and additional drawings and wood carvings. Not until his 40’s did Michael really began to pursue his desires to paint and produce art on canvas. Michael was dating an art major who was working for a North Texas Art Gallery. The gallery she was working for was having trouble staying in business. Michael was forty one years old at this point in his life and had founded, owned and operated over 16 different businesses with over a 95% success rate, so he assumed he could easily turn the art gallery around and make it profitable, so he bought it. Never one to put the cart before the horse, after buying the gallery, Michael decided he should probably know a lot more about art, than he did at this time. So he enrolled in the University of North Texas to take some art classes. He also went to area book stores and bought 20+ books on art and began his art education. During this time he again took up painting. Thus began the Art career of Michael Orsburn. In the first few years Michael only created 2 or 3 works. He put the brush down for many years not to pick up again until 2008. Again producing just a few works. Then in 2012 Michael again turned to art in order to hopefully make a living. He has pursued his painting works almost exclusively and to date (July 2014) has produced over 320 paintings. Starting in May 0f 2014 Michael began to display his work in North Texas with favorable results. As a result of great response to his work Michael is currently beginning to market his work all over the world. Michael welcomes you as a collector of his work, and hopes you will greatly enjoy the pieces you purchase. He is also very grateful for your support.
