As a Division of the Office of Arts and History, our collective Mission supports the Middlesex County Regional Cultural Plan to guide investment of significant resources in the County's arts, culture and history assets for the benefit of all residents.
The Division Historic Sites and History Services, located in Piscataway, creates public programming and exhibits on regional and state history that make significant contributions to the field.

History comes alive with unique programs and compelling exhibits featured in the context of our historic buildings, where living history interpreters create experiences that generate long-lasting benefits to the public, families and school children who take part in our activities.
The Division is supported by professional staff, seasonal employees, and contract services that provide a high level of expertise that support projects and programs with living history interpretation. Curators and guest curators provide professional management of artifacts, photographs, documents featured at our exhibits and programs through outreach to the public, municipalities and our partners.
