Mike Chovanec
Mike Chovanec has been working for the Walt Disney Company for 17 years. For almost five years he has been teaching how to draw Disney characters at the Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida. Leaving Houston, Texas, the town of his birth, he started his college degree with the Savannah College of Art and Design, but primarily worked on his illustration degree at East Carolina University. He has always enjoyed working in pencil color, as an early medium of choice, but later branched out into acrylic and pastels. He has always had a fondness for realism as indicated by his choice of imagery. If one might summarize his work in the fewest of words they would be: color and detail. When he draws and paints outside of work, his primary subjects are landscapes and portraits.
