After retiring from Iron workers union in 2005 I moved to Arizona.
I was looking for something to do so I bought a lathe. The only time I used a lathe
was in high school. The first product I made was a plain brown bowl .friends
liked them and told me of a place I could find exotic wood.
I fell in love with the different types of beautiful wood
Every time I see a piece of wood I see it in a different light. I think that is what
inspired me to make beautiful things from wood
I started making bowls ,platters and wall hangers. When I stared selling my work at art
shows and hearing what people thought of my work I wanted to expand my art
so I started making lazy susans. Now I make serving trays and also tables.
I was never a person that communicated with the public Doing art shows has made
me more comfortable talking to people. I love telling people about my work
Thank You Mike Davis
