Our company began when Neilann Verdell, an art teacher in Sherwood, drew some Arkansas landmarks for her Crafts & Pottery classes to embroider. She thought the designs would be popular gift items if embroidered onto tea towels. Another art teacher, Sara Brannen, suggested they screen print the drawings onto the towels. Another friend, Lessie Kirchner, joined them, and they started their business. Neilann already had been selling other items in vintage market shows. Her last name had been Brown. She decided she would sell whatever she was in the mood to make, so she named the business Moody Brown.
Our studio is located in St Josephs Center in North Little Rock, and our towels are sold in stores throughout Arkansas and surrounding states.
