Chasing Down a Dream with uPlaya's ESZA KAYE!

posted November 28, 2010   category » uPlaya, Esza Kaye, electronica, pop, dance, music universe, hit song scienc

Esza Kaye and this week’s Up-And-Coming artist on uPlaya knows a thing or two about chasing down dreams. Esza’s talent and persistency finally began to pay off upon meeting the producer of Depeche Mode- Paul Freegard. Together Paul and Esza worked to create her debut EP, I Wanna Die Loving You, which sparked the beginning of her professional career in music and the release of her first full-length release, Confessor. Ultimately, the album delivers an anomaly of electronic and pop sounds, vocals, and stories that embody the trials and tribulations of her life and journey to recognition.

Turn the Dial to uPlaya's Channel Theory!

posted November 19, 2010   category » uPlaya, Channel Theory, rock, music universe, auddy award, hit song science

Looking for some new mellow rock ballads to sit back and enjoy the day with? Check out uPlaya's Up & Comer of the week- Channel Theory!

Photobucket

Channeling into ‘emotional musings’ and past experiences powered by an uncanning range of vocals, this rock band has the ability to captivate any audience. The group’s debut album “These Things” embraces a medley of sounds that keeps each track from sounding the same like you hear on so many albums out there today.

I truly feel like art, especially music, is sort of out there already and you just tap into this source when you write from your heart and soul. I feel like this record came from somewhere else, so Channel Theory could also be seen as another way of describing that source where art comes from.

Derek Ryan, founder and lead vocalist on how the band got it's name and the source of inspiration for their music

Last Call for the Ultimate BuzzKill

posted November 16, 2010   category » uplaya, The Second City, Variety magazine, dark comedy, music sync, promoti

You have 2 WEEKS LEFT to submit your music to the Music Universe Talent Search with Variety, where you could win promotions in Variety magazine as well as an offer to have your music placed in BuzzKill, a dark comedy by The Second City.

The film’s director, Stephen Kampmann, recently described the type of music that would be a good fit in one of the scenes for which he needs music. Keep in mind this talent search is open for all styles and genres:

First and foremost, a quality song with great lyrics. It should be an easy listen without being too fast or too slow in tempo. Great candidates are songs you could hear in a bar in the Midwest. BuzzKill is a dark comedy, so a song that alludes to a run of bad luck or embraces irony, satirical humor and/or humility would likely be a great fit for placement in this film.

Limitations apply. See official terms and conditions for details.

One-Man-Act:: uPlaya's Hanibal!

posted October 28, 2010   category » uplaya, hannibal, music promotion, indie artists,

Wearing many hats in the composition and production of his own music, uPlaya's Up & Comer-HANIBAL- knows a thing or two about putting on a ONE MAN ACT! He writes, performs, and produces all of his indie/electro-pop mixes on one laptop, using a single mic, often in the recording studio of his apartment bathroom. Hanibal's music pulls from a mix of influences including The Postal Service, New Order and the Nine Inch Nails, and has been described as “the best 80s dance music not made in the 80s.”
