Nan's Alchemy, Nottingham, MD
Artist Statement
Magic! Straw into gold! Alchemy!
That's the way I view papermaking. Like the alchemist of old, I strive to transform a lowly raw material, in my case paper, into a valuable item.
My love of Asian design led me to papermaking and my style follows that aesthetic of 'less is more'. Art and nature are my unending source of inspiration. I share with you the tiny secrets of nature that others often overlook.
