The Ottawa Art League is a non-profit organization established in 1967 by a group of artists from the Illinois Valley Area. The Ottawa Art League mission is to cultivate and promote a greater interest in art and to encourage the exchange of ideas, knowledge and experience among both professional and amateur artists. The OAL arranges local competitions and viewings for amateur and youth artists in the community and offers awards and prizes for the purpose of encouraging contributions to art.
The Ottawa Art League meets at the 807 Building on LaSalle Street in Ottawa on the first Wednesday of every month. Meetings goals are to present and discuss the knowledge and techniques for the improvement of amateur art. The Ottawa Art League also exhibits members' 2D and 3D fine art at our gallery at 807 LaSalle Street in Ottawa, Illinois. The OAL draws members from across LaSalle, Livingston, Putnam, Bureau, DeKalb, Lee, Grundy and Kendall counties. ###
