I started making dog biscuits for friends who had dogs to give as gifts for the holidays. They encouraged me to sell them, but at first I just toyed with the idea, it took another year before I did try it and since our local VFW had flea markets I started there. I later tried a few flea markets and then local bazaars. In the last three years I have expanded to making at least 50 different biscuits and added kitty treats, but limited. I have also tried making dog soap for dogs and still working on this.
I left the field of teaching and became a university supervisor of student teachers, which is enjoyable, but it also gave me more time to pursue baking the biscuits. I am also a banquet chef for our local VFW for the different parties, weddings, and banquets are huge hall caters to and have access to a commerical kitchen. So here I am, making biscuits which is enjoyable and hoping to expand to further venues. For testing my biscuits I have my dog, Ziggy and three cats, Brunie, Ella, and Smokey. They let me know if I did a good job.
