PEGI HARMON
I am a self taught artist, who was fortunate enough to have a mother that loved to draw and did the hand coloring work for my father’s professional photography business before WWII. I picked up the love of art in the form of sculptors, watercolors, oils and etchings at a very young age and as an adult have pursued oils and watercolors.
In the last few years I have taken this love into silk coloring. I like the freehand drawing and how the colors react on the silk, making each piece unique. I have followed through with making my scarves in the old style with hand stitched rolled hems. I paint in many different styles whether it be on silk, paper or canvas.
I have shown my silks (both wearable & hangings), watercolors, oils & Chinese rice paper paintings at various art shows including juried shows such as Art on the Square at Utica Square, Tulsa, OK, Wines, Eats & Easels in Broken Arrow, OK, Art on Main in Jenks, OK, Art on Main in Broken Arrow, OK and Mrs. De Havens Harvest Art Faire in Tulsa, OK. I have also shown at The Gallery on Sixth, Tulsa, OK and am presently being represented in Tulsa by Mama Trizza’s Gallery.
