Phoenix Fest is back on Saturday October 7, 2017 for its 16th year as Durham NC's funkiest street music festival that celebrates the cultural legacy of Durham NC's historic Hayti community and delivers a fun-filled day of family-friendly entertainment for thousands on historic Fayetteville Street. After the 9 am opening parade with high-stepping bands, businesses and community groups, Fayetteville Street will be transformed into a bustling bazaar with eye-teasing vendor displays and lip-smacking food followed by all-day music on center stage from 11 am until 6 pm.
You're invited to share in this age-old cultural tradition as we commemorate the hard work, vision and enduring spirit of the elders who founded Hayti over 100 years ago. Last year's festival drew over 12,000 festival goers of all ages and this year's festival promises to be even bigger and badder. Phoenix Fest is fun, it's free and it's for the whole family.
