My background is in costume design and construction. I studied at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. After moving to the Pacific Northwest I began creating my one of a kind headpieces and masks inspired by the golden age of Hollywood, fantasy and science fiction and many wonderful headpieces from around the world. I use traditional hat making materials such as buckram and millinery wire as well as materials such as worbla heat formed resin and sawdust and resins. The masks and headpieces are covered in fabrics, paint, metal leaf,or a combination . They are decorated with metal findings, rhinestones, beads, found objects, custom cast resin pieces, feathers and more. No two are ever alike. My line of greeting cards was inspired by my collection of vintage fashion magazines. I have scanned and digitally cleaned the images and then used them to make cards and prints and other items. We have now extended the line to include images from natural history, anatomy books, garden catalogs and collage cards. My jewelry features precious metal clay pieces that I make using molds that I have created of natural objects. I combine these with semi precious stones that I have cut and polished as well as those that other artists have cut. I use wire wrapping and beads and findings to create necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. All items are one of a kind. The natural world inspires me every day. Imagination has no limits.
