MARTA QUEST (Laughing Otter) studied Native ceremony under the guidance of Marilyn Youngbird, a Hidatsa-Arikara Medicine Woman. In 1987 she discovered her LOVE of drumming, and has been making and painting Drums and teaching Drummaking for 30 years. Enjoying work with natural elements, mARTa has expanded her repertoire of art by painting beautiful images on Hoop and Bodhran Drums, and creating custom Rawhide Rattles, Talking Sticks, Custom Drum Sticks and Cases, Walking Sticks, Smudge Fans, and Door Blessings, as well as prints and greeting cards of her paintings.
Her other passions are pre-publishing design and copyediting, a 50-year vocation, as well as sacred women's gatherings.
